“Science Builds Dreams \u2022 Lights Up the Future” \u2013 Sanming, Where My Dreams Started<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong>At the invitation of the Sanming Municipal Education Bureau, Prof. Zhen Fang<\/strong> participated in the Fujian Province Primary and Secondary School Science Education Series Activity themed “Building Dreams with Science\u2219Illuminating the Future” on November 25, 2025. This event was organized by the Fujian Provincial Department of Education and hosted by the Sanming Municipal Education Bureau, aiming to promote the in-depth development of science education in primary and secondary schools across the province. Participants included Prof. Zhen Fang<\/strong> from Nanjing Agricultural University, Prof. Rui Chen from the Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Party Committee Secretary Zuqi Chen from the College of Teacher Education at Fujian Normal University, Sanming Municipal Education Bureau Director Mingsheng Liu, Deputy District Chief Xuzhong Chen of the Sanyuan District Government, as well as relevant leaders from provincial and municipal education departments, representatives from various local education sectors, principals, and teachers.<\/p>\n

At the beginning of the event on the morning of the 25th<\/sup>, the attendees viewed an exhibition of scientific education achievements from the education bureaus of 11 counties (cities, districts) in Sanming City and 14 primary and secondary schools. Subsequently, Director Mingsheng Liu delivered a welcome speech and presented Prof. Zhen Fang<\/strong> with the appointment certificate of “Sanming City Primary and Secondary School Science Education Advisor.” Prof. Zhen Fang<\/strong> expressed:<\/p>\n

\u201cThank you very much to the Sanming Education Bureau for your trust in me by awarding me the certificate of Scientific Education Consultant. It is both an honor and a responsibility to serve the educational cause of my hometown. Education is built upon a scientific foundation. I believe that whether in natural or social science curricula, science is the core, and we must cultivate students’ “Thinking in Science”<\/strong> mindset. I was born in Shaowu city and moved to Taining county when I was one month old, growing up in the county town of Taining. I attended the kindergarten class of Taining Experimental Primary School and graduated from both the Experimental Primary School and Taining No.1 Middle School. During my junior and senior high school years, I often visited Sanming to participate in youth Go tournaments, science competitions, or after university graduation to see my brother (who worked at Sanhua) and classmates. Sanming is also my hometown. I have lived, studied and worked in many cities both domestically and abroad, and every time I return to Sanming or Taining, I truly feel like coming home\u2014it\u2019s especially heartwarming. I remember in the summer of 2003, after studying abroad in Spain, Japan and Canada for 12 years, I first returned to Taining from Montreal, Canada, via<\/em> multiple airports. The moment the plane landed at Wuyishan Airport (by Bus via<\/em> Shaowu to Taining), I genuinely smelled the “fragrance of my hometown’s soil” as described in Feixiang’s song “The Clouds of My Hometown.” It was the unique aroma of the red soil in the northwestern Fujian region under the scorching summer sun. Thank you all!\u201d<\/p>\n

In the afternoon, Prof. Zhen Fang<\/strong> went to Sanming No.8 Middle School to give a 90-min speech on the topic of “My Growth Journey – Where Sanming My Dream Started” to students and teachers. He recalled his experience of picking pebbles to earn money during his youth in the summer vocation in the Primary school, using the proceeds of his labor to purchase ‘One Hundred Thousand Whys’ series books, thus sowing the seeds of science in his heart. He admitted that the road to growth is not smooth, and he has repeatedly experienced setbacks in overseas study selection and postgraduate entrance exams, but he has always adhered to his ideals and worked tirelessly. Prof. Zhen Fang<\/strong> also focused on the global issue of renewable energy, introducing the carbon neutral advantages of bioenergy and the research results of his team in the production of formaldehyde-free boards and biodiesel from straw. Combined with the agricultural and forestry biological resources of Sanming and Fujian, he looked forward to the application prospects of green technology. He encourages teachers and students:<\/p>\n

After the lecture, the students raised many interesting questions to Prof. Zhen Fang<\/strong>, who patiently explained and hoped that the students would have dreams from an early age:<\/p>\n

In the evening, after finishing authentic Shaxian snacks at Sanming North Station (Shaxian), the sky gradually darkened. Prof. Fang<\/strong> sang “Clouds of My Hometown” and sat wearily at the window of the high-speed train heading north to Nanjing (via<\/em> Nanchang). Although he was tired, his heart was filled with immense joy. Before parting, he said to the two young teachers who were bidding farewell:<\/p>\n

\u201cYou need to learn how to sing ‘Clouds of My Hometown’. Next time when I come back, I will test you to see if you have the ability to correct the dissonance and ventilation problems in my singing. When you have free time, take military husbands and children to the wilderness on summer afternoons to smell if the fragrance of the red soil eruption exists. Your husbands cannot only sing the song ‘Returning from Target Shooting’ that I learned in fourth grade of primary school (conducted by the female squad leader from the 6789 unit (anti-aircraft artillery 72ed\u00a0 division garrison) courtyard in Taining), but also should learn to sing ‘999 Roses’. You request them to sing it to you on your birthdays with a revolutionary and romantic spirit.\u201d<\/p>\n

At the window of the northbound-train, station lights flickered like fireflies, and in the quiet carriage were Prof. Zhen Fang <\/strong>and a female train attendant from Nanchang. As train approached Taining Station, Prof. Zhen Fang<\/strong> said to her, “I grew up in Taining and can only take a photo during the 2-minute parking time.” She was moved and helped Zhen Prof. Fang <\/strong>take a photo that showed exhaustion (see below).<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u5e94\u4e09\u660e\u6559\u80b2\u5c40\u7684\u9080\u8bf7\uff0c2025\u5e7411\u670825\u65e5\uff0c\u65b9\u771f\u6559\u6388<\/strong>\u53c2\u52a0\u4e86 \u201c\u79d1\u5b66\u7b51\u68a6\u2219<\/strong>\u70b9\u4eae\u672a\u6765\u201d\u4e3a\u4e3b\u9898\u7684\u798f\u5efa\u7701\u4e2d\u5c0f\u5b66\u79d1\u5b66\u6559\u80b2\u7cfb\u5217\u6d3b\u52a8\u3002\u672c\u6b21\u6d3b\u52a8\u7531\u798f\u5efa\u7701\u6559\u80b2\u5385\u4e3b\u529e\uff0c\u4e09\u660e\u5e02\u6559\u80b2\u5c40\u627f\u529e\uff0c\u65e8\u5728\u63a8\u52a8\u5168\u7701\u4e2d\u5c0f\u5b66\u79d1\u5b66\u6559\u80b2\u6df1\u5165\u53d1\u5c55\u3002\u5357\u4eac\u519c\u4e1a\u5927\u5b66\u6559\u6388\u65b9\u771f\uff0c\u4e2d\u56fd\u79d1\u5b66\u9662\u52a8\u7269\u7814\u7a76\u6240\u7814\u7a76\u5458\u9648\u777f\uff0c\u798f\u5efa\u5e08\u8303\u5927\u5b66\u6559\u5e08\u6559\u80b2\u5b66\u9662\u515a\u59d4\u4e66\u8bb0\u9648\u7956\u68cb\uff0c\u4e09\u660e\u5e02\u6559\u80b2\u5c40\u5c40\u957f\u5218\u94ed\u76db\uff0c\u4e09\u5143\u533a\u653f\u5e9c\u526f\u533a\u957f\u9648\u8bb8\u5fe0\uff0c\u4ee5\u53ca\u7701\u3001\u5e02\u6559\u80b2\u90e8\u95e8\u76f8\u5173\u9886\u5bfc\u3001\u5404\u5730\u5e02\u6559\u80b2\u754c\u4ee3\u8868\u3001\u6821\u957f\u548c\u6559\u5e08\u7b49\u5171\u540c\u53c2\u4e0e\u4e86\u6b64\u6b21\u6d3b\u52a8\u3002<\/p>\n

25<\/span>\u65e5\u4e0a\u5348\u6d3b\u52a8\u4f0a\u59cb\uff0c\u4e0e\u4f1a\u4eba\u5458\u89c2\u770b\u4e86\u4e09\u660e\u5e0211<\/span>\u4e2a\u53bf\uff08\u5e02\u3001\u533a\uff09\u6559\u80b2\u5c40\u548c14<\/span>\u6240\u4e2d\u5c0f\u5b66\u6821\u79d1\u5b66\u6559\u80b2\u7279\u8272\u6210\u679c\u5c55\u3002\u968f\u540e\uff0c\u5218\u94ed\u76db\u5c40\u957f\u81f4\u6b22\u8fce\u8f9e\u5e76\u4e3a\u65b9\u771f\u8001\u5e08\u9881\u53d1\u201c\u4e09\u660e\u5e02\u4e2d\u5c0f\u5b66\u79d1\u5b66\u6559\u80b2\u987e\u95ee\u201d\u8058\u4e66\u3002<\/p>\n

\u201c\u975e\u5e38\u611f\u8c22\u4e09\u660e\u6559\u80b2\u5c40\u5bf9\u6211\u7684\u4fe1\u4efb\u7ed9\u6211\u9881\u53d1\u79d1\u5b66\u6559\u80b2\u987e\u95ee\u8bc1\u4e66\uff0c\u80fd\u4e3a\u5bb6\u4e61\u6559\u80b2\u4e8b\u4e1a\u670d\u52a1\u662f\u6211\u7684\u8363\u5e78\u548c\u8d23\u4efb\u3002\u6559\u80b2\u662f\u5efa\u7acb\u5728\u79d1\u5b66\u57fa\u7840\u4e0a\u7684\uff0c\u6211\u60f3\u4e0d\u7ba1\u81ea\u7136\u548c\u793e\u4f1a\u79d1\u5b66\u8bfe\u7a0b\u6559\u80b2\uff0c\u79d1\u5b66\u662f\u6838\u5fc3\uff0c\u8981\u57f9\u517b\u5b66\u751f“Thinking in Science”<\/strong>\u7684\u601d\u7ef4\u65b9\u5f0f\u3002\u6211\u662f\u90b5\u6b66\u51fa\u751f\uff0c\u4e00\u4e2a\u6708\u5927\u65f6\u79fb\u5c45\u6cf0\u5b81\uff0c\u6cf0\u5b81\u53bf\u57ce\u957f\u5927\u7684\u3002\u6211\u662f\u6cf0\u5b81\u5b9e\u9a8c\u5c0f\u5b66\u5e7c\u513f\u56ed\u5927\u73ed\uff0c\u5b9e\u5c0f\u548c\u4e00\u4e2d\u6bd5\u4e1a\u7684\u3002\u6211\u521d\u9ad8\u4e2d\u65f6\uff0c\u5e38\u6765\u4e09\u660e\u53c2\u52a0\u5c11\u5e74\u56f4\u68cb\u6bd4\u8d5b\u548c\u6570\u7406\u5316\u7ade\u8d5b\u6216\u6765\u5927\u5b66\u6bd5\u4e1a\u540e\u6765\u4e09\u660e\u770b\u6211\u5927\u54e5\uff08\u4ed6\u5728\u4e09\u5316\u5de5\u4f5c\uff09\u548c\u540c\u5b66\uff0c\u4e09\u660e\u4e5f\u662f\u6211\u7684\u6545\u4e61\u3002\u6211\u5728\u56fd\u5185\u5916\u5f88\u591a\u57ce\u5e02\u751f\u6d3b\uff0c\u5b66\u4e60\u548c\u5de5\u4f5c\u8fc7\uff0c\u6bcf\u6b21\u56de\u4e09\u660e\u548c\u6cf0\u5b81\u771f\u6b63\u611f\u89c9\u5230\u56de\u5230\u4e86\u5bb6\uff0c\u7279\u522b\u4eb2\u5207\u3002\u8bb0\u5f972003\u5e74\u590f\u5929\uff0c\u51fa\u56fd\uff08\u897f\u73ed\u7259\uff0c\u65e5\u672c\u548c\u52a0\u62ff\u5927\uff0912\u5e74\u540e\uff0c\u4ece\u52a0\u62ff\u5927\u8499\u7279\u5229\u5c14\u9996\u6b21\u56de\u6cf0\u5b81\uff0c\u7ecf\u591a\u6b21\u8f6c\u673a\uff0c\u5f53\u98de\u673a\u4e00\u4e0b\u6b66\u5937\u5c71\u673a\u573a(\u5750\u5927\u5df4\u7ecf\u8f6c\u90b5\u6b66\u56de\u6cf0\u5b81\uff09\uff0c\u95fb\u5230\u4e86\u8d39\u7fd4\u6b4c\u91cc\u300a\u6545\u4e61\u7684\u4e91\u300b\u5531\u5230\u7684\u201c\u6545\u4e61\u6ce5\u571f\u7684\u82ac\u9999\u201d\u3002<\/p>\n

\u771f\u6b63\u662f\u95fb\u5230\u4e86\u5c0f\u65f6\u5019\u95fd\u897f\u5317\u5730\u533a\u6cf0\u5b81\uff0c\u590f\u65e5\u592a\u9633\u66b4\u6652\u4e0b\u7ea2\u571f\u6563\u53d1\u51fa\u4e00\u79cd\u7279\u6709\u7684\u82ac\u9999\u3002<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n
