Sustainable recycling of organic solid waste (OSW), which includes municipal solid waste, organic sludge waste, polymer solid waste and agricultural waste, will become of even increasing importance, as world population increases and material recycle becomes a necessary characteristic of innovative technology. This text provides a compilation of state-of-the-art techniques for reducing, reusing and recycling OSW and for converting these underutilized carbon resources into valuable chemicals and biofuels with sustainable methods.\u00a0 Chapter topics include manufacture of value-added products such as fuels, commodity chemicals and bio-based functional materials from OSW feedstocks as well as methods for processing and handling many types of OSW. \u00a0Aimed at improving conversion effectiveness and developing innovative techniques for new value-added products, this book was conceived as a collection of studies on state-of-art techniques and developed specifically for producing fuels and chemicals from multiple organic solid wastes via sustainable recycling methods.
