Recently, Springer Editor Dr. Mei Hann Lee from Tokyo congratulated Prof. Zhen Fang, Editor-in-Chief, Springer Book Series – Biofuels and Biorefineries<\/a>, being elected as 2021 Fellow of CAE:<\/p>\n

Prof. Zhen Fang has been elected as a 2021 Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering (CAE)<\/p>\n

President Yves Beauchamp welcomed 50 new elected Fellows and two new International Fellows to the Canadian Academy of Engineering (CAE) on 14 June 2021. Prof. Zhen Fang at Nanjing Agricultural University among the CAE\u2019s 52 new fellows for 2021 has been elected into the CAE. Dr. Donna Strickland (FCAE, Nobel Prize in Physics 2018) and Dr. Lorne Trottier (FCAE, entrepreneur and philanthropist) were invited to give \u201cDouglas Ruth Memorial Lecture\u201d entitled \u201cGlobal Environmental Measurement and Monitoring\u201d and \u201cA Perspective on Climate Change and 21st Century Challenge\u201d, respectively.<\/p>\n

The Induction Ceremony, which will honor both the 2020 and 2021 elected Fellows, has been postponed to October 2021 and will be held virtually.<\/p>\n

The CAE is a national institution through which Canada\u2019s most distinguished and experienced engineers provide strategic advice on matters of critical importance to the country.<\/p>\n

Dr. Fang is a world-renowned expert in renewable energy and green technologies. He has made major contributions to the fields of biomass hydrolysis, biodiesel production, nanocatalysts for biofuel synthesis, hydrothermal processes. He has trained many students and engineers in Canada, Japan, Malaysia, and China. He serves both as editor and editorial board member of major energy journals. As the founding Editor-in-Chief, Springer Book Series-Biofuels and Biorefineries, he is leading the international editorial team to organize and assist authors to publish a series of biomass-related books that have made exceptional contributions to the delivery of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.<\/p>\n
