Recently, Springer has launched a book series entitled, \u201cBiofuels and Biorefineries\u201d with\u00a0Professor Zhen Fang<\/strong>\u00a0(http:\/\/brg.groups.xtbg.ac.cn\/pi%e4%bb%8b%e7%bb%8d-2<\/a>) serving as Editor-in-Chief.<\/p>\n

Professor\u00a0Zhen FANG<\/strong>\u00a0cooperates with the Editorial Board, comprising five world-leaders in biofuels and biorefineries:<\/p>\n

Prof. Liang-shih Fan, Ohio State Univ., USA;<\/p>\n

Prof. John R. Grace,Univ. of British Columbia,Canada;<\/p>\n

Prof. Yonghao Ni,Univ. of New Brunswick,Canada;<\/p>\n

Prof. Norman R. Scott,Cornell Univ.,USA;<\/p>\n

Prof. Richard L. Smith, Jr.,Tohoku Univ.,Japan,<\/p>\n

for this book series.<\/p>\n

The editorial team is comitted to organize and assist authors to publish a number of biomass-related books with the highest quality that will accelerate the growth in this important area, aimed at the publication of at least two volumes per year.<\/p>\n

The first book of this book series that is currently working on is\u201cProduction of biofuels and chemicals with Ionic liquids\u201d with Editors: Profs. Zhen Fang, Richard L. Smith, Jr., Xinhua Qi. The book is anticipated to be published in 2013.<\/p>\n

The book series will be focusing on all aspect related with biomass production, biofuels, bioproducts, chemicals, biomaterials, food and pharmaceutical products, energy planning and policy, as well as processing technologies.<\/p>\n

The book series will be the powerful and integrative source of biomass, bioenergy, biofuels, bioproducts and biorefinery for scientists, students, policy-makes and engineers to reflect the explosive growth in this interdisciplinary area.<\/p>\n

The book series will be operating with a strict refereeing procedure to ensure that the best quality of books and chapters is published. Authors and editors of all volumes and chapters will be invited by the Editor-in-Chief or volume Editors.<\/p>\n

Prof. Zhen FANG<\/strong>\u00a0is leader and founder of biomass group (http:\/\/brg.groups.xtbg.ac.cn\/<\/a>), ChineseAcademy of Sciences, XishuangbannaTropical Botanical Garden. He is also an adjunct full Professor of Life Sciences, University of Science and Technology of China. He is the inventor of\u00a0 \u201cfast hydrolysis\u201d process. He is specializing in thermal\/biochemical conversion of biomass, nanocatalyst synthesis and its applications, pretreatment of biomass for biorefineries. He obtained his PhDs from China Agricultural University (Biological & Agricultural Engineering, 1991, Beijing) andMcGill University (Materials Engineering, 2003, Montreal).<\/p>\n
